God’s/You/Hands
( ESV Romans 8:35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
(ESV Romans 8:37) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
There it is. The promise etched into the hourglass of eternity. The promise that nothing can separate us ( those who are born again and filled with the Holy Spirit) from the love of God.
A. Tribulation: (ESV John 16:33) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
B. Distress: ( ESV Psalm 120:1) A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me.
C. Persecution: ( ESV Matthew 5:10) “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
D. Famine: ( ESV Job 5:20) In famine he will redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
E. Nakedness: ( ESV Ezekiel 16:8) “When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness; I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord GOD, and you became mine.
F. Danger: ( NLT Psalm 27:1) A psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
G.Sword: ( Hebrews 4:12) For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
So there is proof from the Scripture that nothing can separate you from the Love of God, but our own actions which take us outside the Will and Direction of God.
